Rock & Roll dancing is about enjoying a safe, friendly and healthy environment; your social behaviour and interaction should help make it so.
Danny Says: The man's routine generally doesn't call for spins so men simply do not get to spin as much as women … and it shows! Men often struggle to spin without toppling and are often reluctant to do so when actually out 'strutting their stuff'. Practice makes perfect though - try and introduce a simple spin into your normal routine – eventually it will become natural for you and 'low and behold' when you are asked to apply it to more complex moves you will find it will come very naturally. Remember Rock & Roll is forgiving and mistakes are not only encouraged but almost compulsory – just laugh them off.
Janette Says: Men spinning? – a recipe for belly laughs! But learning – especially mistakes, should equate to fun in Rock and Roll because both partners will be learning, both partners make mistakes and trying to recover can be just as much fun as doing it right – just don't stop! To be honest, unless you end up spread eagle on the floor, no one else can tell a mistake has been made either! This is the beauty of Rock & Roll; laughter repairs all errors, greases the learning process and is the essence of Rock & Roll!
